No reunion tour for The Jam

This just in, a friend of mine sat next to Paul Weller from The Jam on a plane last week. The king of the mods was coming home from a holiday in Spain with his family. During the flight they got to chatting and Weller expressed that as far as he was concerned all of these new wave bands reforming is "rubbish". Well I guess that puts to bed any dreams of a Jam reunion. No word on what his in-flight meal was though.

Interesting story, but coming from someone in Boston, get your facts straight.

Earlier this year, two thirds of the original line-up of The Jam (Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler) reformed the band under the moniker of "From The Jam: Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler".

The band initiated a 20-date sold out tour in May 2007, and I saw the band peform to a packed out house in Wolverhampton (near Birmingham). Foxton and Buckler were amazing, and the band sounded exactly like the original line-up but even more powerful.

Foxton and Buckler are staging an even bigger tour in November and December, and their London show at the Forum is completely sold out.

Jam fans are saddened about the fact that Paul Weller doesn't want to join forces with the remaining two thirds of the original line-up, however, at least Foxton and Buckler have the decency to tour the band's original music as it was intended.

Jam fans have been waiting to hear these songs performed live for 25 years. So instead of getting strawberry jam, us fans are getting blueberry jam.

Of course, I miss the strawberrys, however, I still need the Jam in my life, and so do the rest of the fans. We're dedicated to the Jam's music. The songs are still relevant in our lives. Too band they are not relevant to Weller's life. He wrote some amazing songs. He should be proud of them. I mean, we're not talking Message in A Bottle territory here, are we?

And as for the sound of The Jam, nobody will ever replace Foxton's trademark Jam bass lines.

See you at the Brighton Centre gig on December 24th!

Hey, but don't take my word for it, I'm just a Jam fan. Check out this amazing fansite which details all the latest news about Foxton/Buckler's forthcoming UK tour: http://www.fromthejam.co.uk/

Hmmm, maybe someone should let him know his band is touring without him to sold out stadiums!

Maybe I should have said NO REUNION FOR ALL ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF THE JAM.

Hey people, I just report what I hear from people sitting on planes chatting with Weller himself.

Have heard the Weller replacement in new band was recruited from a tribute band - but is he any good? Interested in hearing from someone who's seen him (and who isn't going to just say "it was great" because you're a fan.
